This is a popular DSO due to its size (about 6 times the size of the full moon in our night sky!), the large amount of detail one can capture and the luminosity of the object. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The finished image was compiled from about 4 hours of data off a Seestar s50. Stacked in Siril and processed in GraXpert and Siril. I&#8217;ve also added a starless version so the details of the dust lane are visible aswell. The very very dim picture is a simulation of what you would see if you look at M31 through my 8&#8243; Dobsonian.
